Exposure Super XV Repair help needed please

Postby itskeith » 17 May 2012 00:53

Hello, I'm new to Vinyl Engine and this is my first post!

I think its preferred that I introduce myself / system etc, so here goes:
Have newly got into vinyl. Current system is a Systemdek transcription / Rega Rb250 (internal+external+structural mod and polish) / AT-f5/OCC , Exposure XV Super with MC module and Royd Apex speakers. Its not set up at the moment!

My long term plan is to build a DIY plinth (excuse to play with Birth ply / Soapstone etc) and add an arm. I have already acquired a Denon Dl-103Sa which needs retipping, so sending that off Expert Stylus in the next few days. Will start a separate post about this at some stage.

In the meantime, I wondered if anyone could help with the following: I bought the amplifier due to recommendations that it is apparently a very good amp with a good phono stage built in. I have replaced the blown capacitors (replacements obtained from Tony at Exposure who was amazingly helpful) and also changed the module to MC (which he had spare :-) Unfortunately the amp still does not work and it looks like apparently the output stage has gone bang. I'm now out of my depth and need to send it to someone. Tony at Exposure has kindly offered to do the work on it.

Unfortunately though, I do not have the original packing and wondered:

- can anyone recommend anyone in either Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire / Lincolnshire / Leicestershire who could do this for a reasonable cost, so that i can preferably drop it off by hand?

or alternatively,

-can anyone recommend a good courier company that they use for transporting amplifiers etc?

All help / thoughts and ideas much appreciated.
Kind regards. Keith
