Oil change pump

Postby v1nn1e » 16 Mar 2012 15:21

I will be trying this out over the next week or so in the garage with some cheap engine oil but has anyone else wondered if an ex-Liquid soap dispenser pump would be a good way of removing the oil from the oil well?

I just want to check it's not going to ooze out of the cap somewhere unexpected!
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair (Douglas Adams).

There should not be that much oil to remove.

Cheers,

Indeed. There isn't a lot, and you can use tissue paper to get it out.

Make sure the bearing is free of dust and lint.
