Any reason for that JAS? or maybe nobody ever asked?
I would appreciate a Michell subforum.

I think they need to hear from more than one person to start a sub-forum. Perhaps your posting will stir the pot........ :!:

+1 for a separate Michell forum, as they're beautiful turntables with a dedicated following and above average popularity.

Hi JAS(mod),
Done some quantative searches > all in the same way and only in "hardware" ;-)
Maybe this could also be a reason to get a Michell subforum started?
(And also put the earlier topics/posts on Michell on it together)

Hope this will help to form an own Michell subforum :-)

I've always wondered why there was no Michell subforum, maybe it's because they don't go wrong. :D

Owning both an Orbe and a Gyro SE I'd support it.

There used to be a Michell forum but it was merged into the turntables forum due to lack of use. I'll have a think about reinstating it today :-k

JaS > OK right, didn't know that; good that you think about it now ;-)
You could give it another try and merge the existing Michell Topics.
After a certain time you could always go back to the present situation.
Thanks !

I'm still moving old posts across, but it should be finished soon. I included Transcriptor as there is so much crossover on the early decks.

We'll have to see how it goes as folks get used to it. I think it makes more sense but I'm sure I'll get feedback if it doesn't work

Jas.

Many thanks for the Michell forum, and your huge effort to get it populated. It is working well, looking at the number of posts, and variety of topics.

Why no Oracle Forum?

Postby Madturtle » 08 Dec 2012 17:07

The title says it all. Seems to be lots of general discussion around the board.

This is an international site based in Europe and not sure the Oracle was widely sold outside of North America. Plus the company has gone in and out of business a number of times and is generally acknowledged to not have great service support for previous iterations, unlike say Linn.

I heard the new Paris with the Project arm and cannot say it impressed any more than the Project 2 Xperience with which it shares an arm. Not bad but not necessarily in the same league as other $5k tables.

Actually they are well respected as much in Europe as anywhere else and there are quite a number of users on this forum from this side of the pond.

They were very responsive at assisting to get my old MKII running and I can think of many other present manufacturers who give a damned sight less or zero.

Debatable

Probably no forum as I guess it comes down to the actual number of Oracle related topics. Personally, I prefer to remain elitist and enjoy what I have as a nicely kept secret.
