Going to look at one tomorrow a.m. for possible purchase. I know very little about this turntable. Is there anything I should be especially attentive to?

Do any of you have any experience with this model?

What is a reasonable cost? Supposed to be in excellent condition besides dust cover broken at hinges.

Thanks!

Well I bought it.
The Bad -Dust Cover is broken, no hinges etc, needs new stylus
The Good - Everything else in nice condition.

I replaced Cartridge Stanton 681eee w/ AT120e (taken off other tt)

Sounds great. Now working on cartridge alignment etc.

Paid $250 which I believe is a good deal.

That is a good deal! I just bought mine months ago in so-so shape. As long as the platter, motor and especially the arm is in good condition you are set. The arm is a MA-505mkll and it alone is worth double what you paid. I think this table is one of the best direct drives you can get. The arm is a technical marvel.

Do you know anything about the arm and how to set it up? I just read the owners manual here at V.E. and I now have it dialed the way it should be. Once you read the manual and see what the arm can do you will be amazed!! It added so much depth and smooth clarity that I can't believe I ran it for two months before doing it.

Also, there is some misinformation on the web about the mass of this arm. Most people missunderstand that this arm is low mass at 7 grams. It is true that the tone arm, alone is 7 grams, but once you factor in the original headshell at 9.7 grams, it is actually 16.7 grams, making it a on the "high side" of medium mass. Don't lose the headshell they are muy expensivo to replace.
