Tonearm height adjustment SPL-110

Postby SPL110 » 18 Jun 2012 13:52

Hi, can the tonearm height be adjusted on the Spl-110 turntable?

The new ortofon cartridge sounds good but the angle of the tone arm is wrong now.

Any ideas

Welcome SPL-110!

The SPL-110 does not have VTA (Vertical Tracking Adjustment) of the tone-arm.
It is fixed in that position.

As a workaround, you can add a second platter mat, or a thicker single mat, or a cork mat, to try and raise the height of the platter itself.

Thanks Dave

It is actually the other way round,

I need to lift the tone arm at the pivot end.

As the new cartridge and needle has a larger verticle dimension than the original.

I think the answer is to get a cartridge that has a lower profile.

Tahnks Richard.

Oh, OK, that's different then. What model is the Ortofon? Is it one on the 2M series, cos they do sit pretty high.

A lower profile cart may be your only solution.
