Does anyone know how to remove the platter on a pl530,I bought this unit new and if I remember right when I first set it up the platter felt like it locked in place when I put it together in the late 70's or very early 80's.
It just appears to be a friction fit of the platter onto the tapered spindle. Use holes in the platter to lift and tap the spindle with the plastic handle end of a screwdriver and it should come loose.
