PL-A35 Sound Issue

Postby chewikazza » 28 Jun 2012 01:57

Hey guys,

I recently got a PL-A35 back from the repair shop after inheriting it and noticed the sound 'jumps,' as if the sound goes up and down every rotation. It's not a volume jump but like a tempo hiccup. The speed overall sounds good. The belt was replaced and the player was cleaned up but I optioned not to replace the cartridge or stylus. The previous owner was the original owner and it had sat in storage for years, so the cartridge is definitely in need of replacing.

When noticing the hiccup, it looks like the platter wobbles, but I've read players can do this and seen it happen in youtube videos.

Could this be happening from the replacement belt?
Could it be from the cartridge?
Could my records be warped enough for this to happen?
