I use a 50 /50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. I spray my hands periodically while cleaning records to remove hand grease and oils. Ideally it would be best to wear rubber gloves.

I wash mine by hand by spraying it right onto the record and using cotton cloths to clean up the excess and because of the mix drying time is not much at all, I just spin the turntable with the record on it and use a cotton cloth. been doing it for years and have had no problems.

I hate to see people tempted to use hair dryers and radiators etc. not even necessary at all seriously.

then I do the final cleaning with that mix and a vintage Discwasher. The records gloss and sound as clean as they can be.

almost similar to what i do cleaning records using my own cleaning formula. If some records are bought 2nd hand and is too dirty or moldy, hand washing with distilled water and dishwashing liquid works for me. Thoroughly dry with pure cotton cloth, then air dry record in front of an electric fan.
