Hi, you need to make sure the stylus isn't clogged with a white residue from the cleaning fluid. I found that the best method for this was, use the Knosti cleaning fluid, then use a rinse fluid. I made my own from IPA, Pure water and wetting agent. It got rid of the residue. Also, found that if the rinse fluid is warmish it will dry better, I store mine in a cupboard near the boiler. Hope this helps

The Knosti fluid is just ethanol (written on the bottle) water and detergent. Things dissolve in the fluid when you wash a record this cant be filtered out. Using the stock fluid is not a good plan, first if you filter and reuse it the crud goes onto the next record, second is it does not rinse well at all and leaves residue, and third it is only ethanol and water with detergent, ethanol is not the best record cleaner anyway, it wont hurt your records but ISO is better at dissolving crud anyway so why use the knosti fluid in the first place?. Any cleaner that leaves so much residue on a record is best avoided.
I use ethanol and detergent, but warm and fresh each time and rinse, then squirt with distilled to finish, it the record is very dirty I use ISO, water and detergent.

Hi, I don't use the Knosti cleaning agent at all. I use IPA with purified water and a small drop of Fotoflow wetting agent. The information was intended for the guy with the machine, and from previous experience of the Knosti fluid, I know how much it clogs up stylus's and groove's. I buy quiet a few albums from the local charity shops and from friends who are going over to DS. ( I got 40 albums last week) but as I had previously said, I always clean them thoroughly. If there really dirty, then a warm water wash with a small amount of detergent will normally get rid of the bulk of the crud, but,if its caked in pretty hard then I use just IPA (Isopropyl alcohol 97%) and a cotton bud to remove the offending crud, then into a record cleaning machine, and I then do a rinse afterwards. It may not be the best system, but it works well for me and I have only had two failures. One was a box set of Handle music (3 lp's), and that had something really bad poured over it, and it had gone a dull & flat, so didn't play it (suspect it was some kind acetone fluid? )and the other had a lot of clear nail varnish embedded into it. I forgot to look both sides when buying. So, not bad as I have been collecting Vinyl for around 40 years. I still buy new albums a lot from various dealers (6 week before) The only trouble is I am running out of room.
