Whew! They're not warped!

Post by akak01000101 » 28 Nov 2019 05:51

I pulled out a set of records from storage in my garage where in the last 25 years it was hitting 120 degrees throughout the summer months. I thought for sure they would be warped and ruined, but I had them packed real tight in the milk crates. To my surprise not a single one was ruined. The covers were full of dust and I had to clean each and every cover and record, and they still sound fantastic!

^^ This so much is why I love go dumpster diving. It's incredible how much abuse, rain, snow and sunshine records can be exposed to and still, 20-50-70--100(!) years later, be picked up by chance and sound AMAZING after a good clean.

Congrats with your find! You have to be in nostalgia heaven by now :)

Just a thought, but if you want to do the milk crate thing and still stack them, I found these, which may fit the records a little better...

Maybe I am slightly confused, but, why would they be warped? They were certainly stored upright, not flat.
