Kenwood L-07D bought new in the early 80's. It cost me 20,000 swedish kronor, which at the time corresponded (if I remember the exchange rates from way back then correctly) to ~4,000 USD or 1,350 GBP

Current cartridge, bought a year ago is a Ortofon Rondo Blue: 4,395 SEK which is about ~650 USD, 330 GBP or 490 EUR .

Townshend Rock with Helius Scorpio tonearm: 10 euro (about GBP 6.70). Replaced the belt, fitted it with new gold plated cinch connectors. Now i can use any interlink i want. Temporary Audio Technica cartridge. The belt i got from a friend. I paid 9.90 euro for the cinch connectors. The cartridge will set me back another 10 euro (from the friend that gave me the belt).
Total amount paid for this magnificent turntable: 29,90 euro (20,13 GBP, 39, 23 USD).

Technics SP10MkII $215
sheet of birch ply $34
SME 3012 SeriesII $396
Denon DL-103 $150
Audio Technica ATP-12 $77
Denon DL-102 $169

A pretty good set-up for well under $1,000, especially since I prefer the A-T for both cartridges (and I'm sure I could sell the SME at a profit . . .)

But of course I have a lot of stuff I no longer listen to:

Thorens TD-124 $200
SME IIIs $124
Shure V15VmxR $225
Heavy plinth $175
Thorens TD-121 $121
Thorens TP-14 $2 (well, a trade for a Vestigal arm I bought for $2 at a yard sale)
Black Widow arm $175

But all this pales in comparison to what I have spent in records over the past 40 years . . .
