I think it's time you find out your rights in the matter by seeing citizens advice and GET YOUR MONEY BACK.

8 weeks!, get your money back. I'm in a similar situation, I bought a Pioneer Elite 300 disc cd changer and it's been in the repair shop for 2 months! It is at a authorized Pioneer service center and there is only one guy there that works on stuff. He put in a new laser and cannot get his tools in the space where he has to adjust the laser so he is contacting Pioneer about the situation and so I wait even more. I know just how you feel!!!

Best Regards.

VITB, you shoulda bought the Sony equivalent - then you can try to find a Slink-e, download the Nirvis CDJ software off their website and control your player through you PC/laptop.

I also added an ethernet-RS232 converter to my setup, so now I can choose CD's (or playlists or even single tracks) from my laptop over my wireless network. I'm going to look at doing it with a PDA next.

Not that vinyl isn't cool or anything... 8)

Hey Abandonflip,

I had a Sony 400 disc changer and returned it because the cd text did not work (none of them work) model #455, that's why I bought the Pioneer.
Sounds like you have a really cool system. I like to watch things work, like playing a record, watch the mega changer change discs. I also have 3 classic jukeboxes, which is always fascinating to watch.

Regards.

I use the CX350 and the CD-text does work on that, although in fairness I only appear to have one CD that has text on it - Michael Jackson's 'Invincible' (don't ask!).

It doesn't really matter anyway, as the Slink-e writes text back to the memory on the player, and the CDJ software interrogates cddb.com for the info. Therefore, the disc info is always displayed.

The first thing you would need (other than a Sony player) is one of these:

AR XA in mint shape from my dad (original owner) -- FREE
New belts -- $18.50
Grado Prestige Black -- $50
Shure M97xE on the way -- $70
Felt/carbon fiber mat -- $15

total so far = $153.50

PS. I have a stock AR tonearm with another headshell on the way $70. I'm going to use the headshell to test against the Grado Prestige Black . . .

Upcoming mods -- maybe rewire tonearm, possibly new plugs with ground wire to update. The table is in great shape, so any mods at this point are not necessary for enjoyment :D

I recently received my Revox B791 from Germany.

It came with an Ortofon MC20MkII in pretty good shape, and an Ortofon T30 step up transformer.

The whole lot cost me 330 euro including shipping.

So let me get this straight. You have a PT1 as primary sorce and a CX350 for convenience when playing poker etc.

Same here
Mine runs through a Meridian 203 dac and still sounds shite, but I only have about 60 CDs and don't really care as I have my PT :)

That's a pretty close approximation, although it's actually a PT Too.

Actually the Sony is getting progressively less use as I've noiw added a Squeezebox to the system
