I'm 19 so i cant afford nice stuff in MY learning area. so i will post pictures later of my ghetto area. but in the mean time i am curious to see everyone's listening area, post your pictures!

Here's my "listening area", as you called it.

Don't be fooled by the clean appereance of the wooden floor -normally it's crowded with lots of acoustically damping material: a carpet/road for my children's mini-cars, a train, my little kid playing with his "activity center", cushions for protecting the speakers from a forecoming battle, and everything one can find on a sofa board (magazines, books, crayons, pencils, papers, cereals, remote controls, Dvd's and the like) which eventually must be altogether thrown onto the floor due to the earthqueake caused by a powerful Gormiti or by El Zorro.
I bet you this is a real LISTENING AREA!

I'm 23, and reasonably broke, but this is the area where I used to run my radio station, and when I stopped doing it the system got half pulled apart and stayed that way, the mixer is still patched in. This is my bedroom also. GHETTO


The booth (bedroom) monitor speakers sat on top of the record cabinet here, and they weren't terrible sounding so I just left them.

Oh my God, cleansound! That´s a set-up! Actually it´s true, that Wilco album really is something. It´s also the only one I´ve got, so recommendations are welcome.
We´re building a house nearby. NOW? Yes, we´ve been waiting for three years, putting some money appart, and prices seem more logical nowadays to a flat-earthed like me. I´m looking forward to getting my own listening place, and I might be changing equipment (longing for some valves...). I´ll take your room as a personal aspiration. Don´t think I´ll climb so high, though. I´m a family man !

PS Lady in Satin is better on LP. You really feel the sorrow and desperation in Holiday´s deep-throated whiskey voice -and it´s easier to forget those irritating happy-day-in-a-mall string arrangements!

The system has been built by buying and selling over the last 20 years or so.
I am fortunate enough to have a dedicated sound room and when my kids are in there , they know not to touch any thing.
I have Wilco -Hotel Yankee Foxtrot which is also an excellent album.
The Lady in Satin is also superb.

This is how it is at the moment. I'm still working on room tweaks and that could take a good while. I just can't seem to get the spatial definition I want and know is possible.

Hi all,

Around four months ago I converted our attached garage into a hi-fi listening room/den. Many hours are spent there each week, amazing place to listen to music and totally chill out. I've recently bought a pair of Audioplan Kontrast Mk II speakers, lovely sounding ok. Yea, the Quad ESL 57's rock...

They are not bright at all, they are more accurate than my Sonus Faber Cremona's at higher frequencies.

This is fantastic, although it really needs a 640p just to finish it off. A good budget system I could recommend to anyone. There are more pics but I couldn't get the gallery to work + it takes a while to upload.

Note the Technics speakers bowing down to the dittons (they work well at dampening vibrations).

Here's the whole room. I moved the rack near the corner so that I could have the sub in the center.It sounds much better that way. I'll have to investigate stereo subs in the future,. And yes, the spears are real. They're Montagnard, Rhade' tribe.

Nice setup dragonwhip!

I've pushed my Quad ESL 57's out of the way for now, and my pair of Audioplan Kontrast II's are in place for a while, very nice textured bass response.....yummy! Only just got these Audioplan's, awesome.



Nice to have the choice of panel and floor standing speaks.
