I took the plunge and got myself a Rogers MCP100 MC step up to use with my Sugden C51/A51 and Quad 22/II driven systems. When I get the funds together I'll be on the look out for a suitable LO MC Cart to use with the Rogers. I also snapped up for peanuts a M91ED to add to my MM collection. The last Shure I listened to was a M75ED back in 1978 and that was fitted to a Strathearn and from memory it wasn't a great combination!
All secondhand: Some Black Ravioli, a Voodoo Airtek isolation platform, a set of Aurios isolation bearings, a set of Sonority Design isolation cones, a pair of Townshend Seismic Sinks for speakers and a very short (but long enough) pair of Nordost Frey interconnects. Big on isolation this week!
Well... I just got a Sansui TU-717 tuner to go with my AU-717 integrated. The tuner is pretty rough but I hope to be able to get it going again. I got my eye on an equalizer next. Already have two cassette decks overhauled and ready for duty. After that, I need to think about speakers for it. I would love some Klipsch for it. I have a 5.1 system for the desktop from Klipsch and like them very much. The set is ten years old and I dropped a satellite last year. The grill broke the pins on impact, i went to the Klipsch website and they had a replacement for four dollars. You gotta love that. I was expecting to have to search the auction site for another one. Probably buy the wrong one and then have to buy all five just to get one grill. That's my usual luck. Klipsch saved me from myself. Yaaa.
One set of four replacement headshell tags ( to replace worn ones) by AudioQuest. One bottle of Record Washing Fluid from VPI One headphone connecting adaptor from 1/4" to Mini, by Grado, Total for all, about $40.00. That's it for the duration. Regards, bauzace50
