suspension resonance frequency?

Postby ProfTournesol » 19 Aug 2012 23:58

Does anyone know what vertical frequency the Pink Triangle suspension is tuned to?

Michael

Arthur - if he has not forgotten! I would guess between 3-6 Hz. I was thinking how I could measure it, I wonder if anyone has written a smartphone app which uses the accelerometers to measure vibration frequency...

Hi Michael, signalscope for the iphone from Faber Acoustical can do FFTs using the accelerometer as input. I'll try it on my PT1 today if I get a chance.

PT1 reads 4Hz, export reads 5.5Hz.
Of course this probably depends on the position of the washers and they probably aren't set the same on both TT's, but at least you have a range to work with.

Good luck,
Simon
