Anyway, it wouldn't be a proper Pink Triangle power supply if it didn't look like it was about to blow up!

It has been modified though hasn't it - at least had parts replaced? I don't think the Oscon capacitors are original nor the diodes soldered together instead of their normal bridge. And their transformers were normally square not a torroid..

Dunno,
I knew it had been modified to a degree but thought it was just the batteries and a solid silver umbilical cable. It was owned from new by Peter *****? of the Audio Consultants?? (I knew I should have kept the listing info!), perhaps I should track him down and see what I can find out.

I'd say it probably has had some other good bits changed like those better, less noisy capacitors and the faster diodes. Torroidal transformers are normally considered less 'noisy' than square ones too so I guess that is the reasoning there.

Just wondering, does anyone want to post up a photo of K-Drive internals? I'm intreged to see if it is similar to my late Anni PSU.

Are you able to show photo's of where the charger connects to the control board, also the charger PCB tracks on the underside of the charger plus a list of components... capacitor values, power resistor ratings?

I have several PT Anniversary PSU's, including a K Drive and would be interested in comparing with the modified battery supply.

Thanks

Probably a daft question....But would it be relatively easy to upgrade my PSU to a battery one?

Hi Kirk,

I'd imagine so. The complexity would depend upon how clever you wanted to be about charging the batteries.
