Hi rolleye, thanks for the reply.
I rang Doug Brady too, who originally supplied it about 15 years ago, and they were very helpful. As you say, the Tabriz doesn't need the ground to be attached at the deck end, don't ask me how and why. As long as the lead is neatly coiled away from the chassis etc it should be fine.

Had quite a chat about Pink Triangle with the guys at Doug Brady, very interesting too. I'm going to keep the Export going for as long as I can, assuming it still works, will find out tonight! Advised to get the new PT arm, it's supposed to be totally brilliant. Must start saving now.

I should be up and running and listening to vinyl by tonight, I've missed it.

Pt Export & Arm Alternatives

Just looking through other threads - I'm new to this, and you've commented on PT arm / cartridge mods etc on a few.

Have you heard the new Funk Firm FXR 2? My problem is finding a place to listen to it, preferably on a PT or FF and with Naim amps, something near to my own set up. In London I'm finding it difficult and although I'd love to go to Warrington (?) 400 mile round trip is a bit of a trek for an audio audition.
Do you know anywhere in the south east that has it in a listening room with Naim amps, maybe PMC speakers - that's pushing it. I was interested in the Origin Live arm, which is quiet a bit less, but I do like the FF FXR direction and Arthur's ideas generally.

It's a lot of money to spend on something you haven't heard.

Rob
i have an FXR-II and based on my personal experience I can recommend it, to a point... my only reservation is the cost. there is a lot of competition at that price and there are some for considerably less that imho offer better value for money.

You could try
Grahams HiFi
190A North Road
London
N1 7BS.................0207 226 5500

they should be able to help with the FXR although not sure about the Naim amps
