Music Hall MMF-11

Anyone own one of these, or even heard one at a dealer? I'm in the market to upgrade from a 30 year old Sota Sapphire and am looking at the MH along with Pro-ject RM 10.1. I haven't found even one review of the MH 11 -- lots of reviews for the Pro-Ject 10.1 and its predecessor. I did consider refurbishing the Sota but really want something better.

My system front end: new Lyra Delos; Monolithic PS-1 Phono stage, Counterpoint SA 5.1 Preamp.

Never mind. After some discussion with a sales person at Music Direct, I was talked into getting a VPI Classic 2. Certainly a safer choice than the Music Hall at this time. Hope I don't end up kicking myself when rave reviews come out saying how the MH demolishes the VPI.

People who buy VPI Classics seem to disappear from the forums, because they have no problems and are too busy listening to music. I'm going to have to listen to one.

Cheers,
Alec

Oh I would have gotten the MH 11.1

What you have in the 11.1 table is the technology of the EAT and Pro-Ject tables. Music Hall also imports E.A.T. tables into the USA.

Music Hall first.

Take a look and see how much they look a like.

Now a few of the EAT tables

So basically...Music Hall, E.A.T. Tables, and Project tables are all use some of the same designs and should be about the same in performance.

Well, they share some components (like tonearms, motor and plattern) but they are not identical. Major difference is the plinth design. Roy Hall, founder and CEO Music Hall, uses it's own and patented split-plinth design to reduce the impact vibration has on the music reproduction.

All are on a high level of performance, but not identical.

Had I had the moolah to get an mmf-11.1, I would have gone that way. Alas only had enough money to get a mmf-7.1 and very glad I did, brilliant table.
I can only imagine what the 11.1 can do.
