In Amsterdam at the moment. Concerto is a great record shop, also went to Back Beat. Picked up a couple of Fred McDowell records and Jimmy Reed plays 12 string blues as well as a new copy of the Howlin Wolf Album - my old copy is a bit knackered.

Off to Dublin next, still looking for advice on record shops there.

I'm no expert, but I find the sound quality to be absolutely wonderful. Deep, full and extremely crisp where it should be. Kind of like drowning in the deep end of an empty pool... My copy of Cure for Pain should arrive any day now too, so I'm pretty excited to hear that one as well.
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

My score was okay today, I hit 2 Goodwill stores and went through about 500 lps or so for just these few.

They are in great shape and near mint though. had to tape repair a couple sleeves and reglue seams as well but happy with these for 49 cents half price sticker color as well as some for 99 cents each.

Ordered a copy of the Zabriskie Point soundtrack off of a famous auction site. Features the Floyd, the Dead and a few others. I'm excited to hear this one! (3 and a half weeks til I can tho)
Are we there yet? No, never there yet. Keep it rollin', we're paid by the mile.

I won a box of 150 45's at my local auction today. Not a treasure trove, but only £6. Will sell a few excellent/mints on Ebay and donate the rest. Listening to some of them as I write.

I love getting the facebook message from my local record store letting me know when they get a good used record collection in! Nice, clean copies of some old faves( and one new one):

1971 Decca

1971 Apple

I have no idea if I'm going to be able to appreciate that Yoko Ono, but I figured "What the Hell?" I might have passed it by but I've never seen it before, and may never again. Worst case scenario, I just trade it in back where I got it.

Bought a couple of LP's today.

a couple of new ones -
Ed Sheeran, +. Yeah I know it's 'young persons' music but actually it's a very sweet little LP with some decent tracks.
Cinematic Orchestra, In Motion #1. Haven't listened to it yet but I always like the stuff they've done before.
Elliott Smith, An Introduction to.......
Michael Kiwanuka, Home Again. On 1st listen I'd sear this was some lost gem of laid back 70's soul. Very good debut LP.
Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here

Some 2nd Hand mainly from charity shops-
Alexander Tucker, Portal. Soundscapes built on loops of 'fuzzy' electric & acoustic guitars, mandolins & other sounds overdubbed to build a wall of sound interlaced with his near ethereal vocals. I'm now a fan. Reminds me of Red House Painters, early Sun Kil Moon & Retribution Gospel Choir. Excellent.
Van Morrison, Saint Dominics Preview and Beautiful Vision. The former to replace my told old copy and the latter I have never heard before.
Them Featuring Van Morrison. A Decca compilation and pretty good it is too.
Serialement Votre. A collection of remixes of film and TV themes. Some good versions but not stellar stuff unfortunately.
Linda Lewis, Not A Little Girl Anymore. Not her best early LP but a few 'nice' tracks.
Johnny Cash, One Piece At A Time & .....Sings Precious Memories. Not his best work but OK if you are an ardent fan like me.
Frank Sinatra, Strangers In The Night & Some Nice Things I've missed
Neil Young, After The Goldrush[/u. Needed to replace my tired old copy.
[u]Average White Band, Feel No Fret & Benny & Us
. I'm undecided on both of these
Pete Namlook, The Definitive Ambient Collection, Vol. 2. Kinda does what it says on the tin and I like it.
Pressure Drop, Front Row. More 90's ambient electronica.
Jeff Beck Group, Got The Feeling. Yet to listen
Rolling Stones, Tattoo You. Not them at their best
ELO, Face The Music. Yet to Listen
Colin Blunstone, Ennismore. Yet to Listen
Sade, Stronger Than Pride. A guilty pleasure to be honest
Jorge Santana, S/T[/u. Yet to listen
[u]Carmel, S/T & Everybody's Got A Little.....Soul
. I always liked her and thought she was an underrated and underdeveloped singer.

That is one of my favourite live LP's. I tend not to be a fan of Live recordings but love this one.
