Beautiful picture discs in this.

That's pretty awesome art, even by Maiden's standards.

Yeah I agree with that ... this item however has the same problem picture discs usually do in that they don't sound as good as regular vinyl. They sound ok but not that crispness you get from a new regular record on 180 gram vinyl.

I bought some 180 gram vinyl releases recently that I've not yet posted pictures of and they sound magnificent.

This is what I got.

HAWKWIND - SPACE RITUAL VOLS 1 AND 2 DOUBLE LP 180g
HIGH ON FIRE - SNAKES FOR THE DIVINE DBL LP 180g VINYL
HEAVEN AND HELL - THE DEVIL YOU KNOW DBL LP 180g VINYL
CRADLE OF FILTH - GODSPEED ON THE DEVIL'S THUNDER DBL LP 180g

Nice pickups, especially the Hawkwind. Haven't listened to COF much lately although I do like some of their earlier stuff. I keep meaning to get the new High on Fire album on vinyl but just haven't got to it yet.

HOF's new release has received criticism as being not as heavy as their previous efforts but quite frankly I don't see it. Black Sabbath had heavy groove and sounded fine, HOF have not lost heaviness.

As for the Hawkwind Lemmy is God even in jam song land.

That Hawkwind does look pretty sweet. I've never really listened to much Hawkwind, but I'm kind of interested in checking them out. Any albums you might recommend? I'd probably appreciate the sound of a studio album over a live album, unless that's really the best bet.
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

Themz Black Sabbath Rhino 180g records are amazing aren't they! I recently got Vol.4 and their first record on Rhino. Good sounding clean vinyl. Fantastic get you got there. I'm still running my old copy of that Masters album and need the newer Rhino as well.

OMG I made a great score today at Goodwill Stores again. I got all of these for $32 total. Firstly these are all in EXCELLENT quality. I do not know whose collection this came from, maybe someone who died. Maybe someone getting old and had to move so were forced to get rid of these or whatever.

Most of these are like new vinyl!!! I ac tually left about 25 there because they had a scratch or whatever. Damned shame as a couple were excellent finds but not very good. These however are excellent!!

PRINCE - 1999
EARTH WIND AND FIRE - THE BEST OF
EARTH WIND AND FIRE - I AM
ART GARFUNKEL - BREAKAWAY
ELO - FACE THE MUSIC
CHICAGO - TRANSIT AUTHORITY
AVERAGE WHITE BAND - S/T
SCANDAL FEATURING PATTY SMYTH - WARRIOR
JOE WALSH - THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD
NANTUCKET - YOUR FACE OR MINE?
BOB & DOUG McKENZIE - GREAT WHITE NORTH
FOOTLOOSE SOUNDTRACK
LOVERBOY - GET LUCKY
CHICAGO - S/T
ROD STEWART - GREATEST HITS
HEART - S/T
OUTLAWS - GHOST RIDERS
HELEN REDDY - LONG HARD CLIMB
THE EVERLY BROTHERS - THE VERY BEST OF
CHICAGO - 16
CHICAGO - III
QUEEN - A NIGHT AT THE OPERA
QUEEN - S/T
QUEEN - NEWS OF THE WORLD
HERMAN'S HERMITS - ON TOUR (THEIR SECOND ALBUM!)

I wish my GW stores had stuff like that. In my stores, it is Herb Alpert, Andy Williams and Henry Mancini as far as the eye can see. I guess the people that bought those are getting to the age of dying or downsizing. Maybe in 15-20 years there will be tons of Floyd and Zeppelin albums at GW?

I'm not a Hawkwind authority by any means, my friend herb has a lot by them but I do have an album I like by them a lot that was just reissued on vinyl. I saw it at the Bull Moose record store here yesterday actually.

They copied the packaging correctly too from what I could see and it is on 180g vinyl.

here is a youtube clip from this album, you might like it. http://youtu.be/X5SRYtPLDLI

Don't worry they had those! Thay also had 2 SEALED LAWRENCE WELK ALBUMS OH NOOOOOO THE HORRORRRR.

They restocked recently, they had 3 copies of some of the Chicago albums as well as 2 Loverboy albums etc. They were not from the same collection so I think GW must have an inventory distro place because I as well as others have been buying mostly classic rock and they have been restocking accordingly.

I am more sad at 20-25 records I left behind because they had a bad scratch or whatever. They had some old Jackson 5 and solo Michael Jackson records but they were scratchy.

basically I pick out the ones I want and then go through and pull the record from each and sort accordingly. I know which ones will clean well even if they look bad at this point. I'll even buy 2 of the same if they have them and I am not sure from looking. They are only 99 cents each.

I missed out on the GW color sticker sale, everyday they change colors and whatever color sticker you get 50% off. Yesterday was Yellow so I missed out but have hit them on a green and a Blue which I got records for 50 cents each before.

The Chicago box set has water damage on the bottom of the box but the 4 records inside were literally virtually mint and the sleeves were cherry.

That box set was $2.99

GW doesn't always have great finds but if you go shopping at a store nearby and stick your head in once in a while you WILL find some good records.

Alabama Shakes - Boys and Girls

It's playing right now and could benefit from being cranked up a bit!
Nice album though, and it came with the download code and a 7" single with bonus tracks.

What a sensational album. God, he can play a bit! Lovely double heavyweight set. 80 mins or so of top notch blues pyrotechnics. Brilliant.
