City to City - Gerry Rafferty UAS30104

Bought this absolutely mint yesterday for £2. I know there are millions of copies around but it is so good if you have not heard it for a while. Album is from 1978 (34 years ago) and the sleeve is nice and crisp like it was bought yesterday new - amazing.

RIP Gerry Rafferty.

Regards

Ian

I picked up The b52's first two LPs today for £5.After a couple of cleans they sound great. The first album was certainly a ground breaker, absolutely mad.

That's funny. Once I came across Killers, Number of the Beast and Somewhere in Time (along with a couple of Saxon albums) at a thrift store at the same time. When I luck into a selection like that, it makes me think either someone got "born again", or someone's mom decided to clean out their grown-and-moved-out kid's stuff. Sort of makes me feel a little bad buying it. Sort of. :)

Haha, yeah, I never feel bad but I do wonder why someone's whole collection made it to the record store. Maybe he died, maybe he got into a spat with his wife. Haha! Right now at the record store is someone's Edgar Winter collection and alot of John McLaughlin post Mahavishnu Orchestra stuff just waiting for the super fan to buy it all.

I found a few cool albums at an estate sale today.

That last one's kind of odd. There are the three tracks listed on the cover, and that's the extent of any information about the performances. The back cover has the Crown records catalog.
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

More from Japan:

Beatles - Rubber Soul (red wax mono)
Beatles - 1962-1966 (red wax)
Beatles - 1967-1970 (blue wax)
Beatles - Hard Day's Night (Parlophone reissue mono)
Beach Boys - Made in USA (blue wax Japanese pressing)
Tchaikovsky's Three Great Ballets (a Japanese London Stereo pressing)
Andre Kostelanetz and his orchestra - Swan Lake (a Japanese Columbia pressing)

I passed up on an original issue UK mono Sgt. Pepper's ($115) and White ablum ($560). Just couldn't bring myself to drop that much money. I think I should have got the Sgt. P though. Ugh!

Alabama Shakes - Boys and Girls

Carolina Chocolate Drops - Genuine Negro Jig

Ting Tings - We Started Nothing

The Jules Holland show this week was one of the best for a long time and prompted me to buy the Alkabama and Carolina albums. Great acts I thought
