Need Help...Garage Bands!

So.....what are some good 60s garage band albums? I want to start collecting, and so far I've got a 13th Floor Elevators reissue, and Count Five (Reactions). What are the top 10 albums of the 60s I need?

Love 60 psych, and garage music, just not sure of names.

All right! Now we're talkin! I would start off with the Nuggets compilation. Some GREAT stuff here, and a wonderful introduction to a lot of different bands.

Additionally, I'd recommend:
The Seeds - s/t
The Music Machine - s/t
Paul Revere and the Raiders - Just Like Us!
The Sonics - Here are the Sonics
The Trashmen - Surfin' Bird!

The Nuggets set is really the best way to get started though. I don't know how easy it is to find on vinyl, but there's a four-volume cd Nuggets set from Rhino that I believe is redily available and worth every penny.
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

Second on The Seeds.

Fever Tree S/T
The Chocolate Watchband

The CD Box set of Nuggets has a ton of stuff not on the vinyl. Great intro to this music.

Looking further afield than the US. There was some stunning output from south of the border.

The Wallflower Complexion - Only released in Colombia by US nationals and in the top 10 list of wants for Garage fiends

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V998-4QG ... ure=relmfu

Los Saicos - Peru garage band who only listed a handful of 45s that are now captured on an LP

Kaleidoscope - Ultra rare psych garage from Mexico

If you like some crazy stuff La Revolucion De Emiliano Zapata's 1st LP is pretty cool

Anybody know the best site to find rare records at a decent price? Musicstack?

I'm getting some awesome names here, writing them all down...some sound expensive.

If you MUST have originals, they can be hard to find and kind of spendy, but there are some great reissues out there. For example, I like to keep tabs on what Sundazed Records and Norton Records are putting out. Both have some great reissues. I just checked Sundazed.com and they have really nice pressings of a lot of the bands that have been mentioned including the Chocolate Watch Band, The Sonics, and others. They put out some killer compilations as well, if you're looking to sample some different bands.
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

If you can find a copy of this http://www.discogs.com/Various-Ugly-Things-The-CD/release/438281 it's got a lot of the best Aussie stuff laid down.

A lot of this style was only on singles so comps are a good bet.
While your at Discogs search for Acid Visions and Acid Dreams.
