I got this LP single when I was 12.

That makes it 34 years old!

I'm amazed how clean it plays.

ENJOY!

Was just listening to Commoders Live 2LP (UK Motown) which has Brick House on it. Big build up and sing-along with the crowd about how all the ladies there are "Brick House". From the chat I gather it means they are fine ladies.

Can someone expand on the meaning of 'Brick House' for me please. I'm in Aussie and have never heard the term here.

thanks.

Brick House
A female with an excellent figure, often with large breasts. Comes from "She's built like a brick shithouse!" as in really sturdy or well built. Popularized by the The Commodores' 1977 song of the same name.
That dancer that Sean is dating is a total brick house!

I noticed that in my video too.

I took the mat off and it appears the top of the platter is spinning flat. Obviously my tone arm/cart are bobbing up/down in my vid though.

The bottom of the platter is not square, but I'm not too surprised by that.

Is it possible my mat is off? LOL. Possibly that particular record is in play as well.

Need to video one of my 180g MoFi's and see ....

I'm not thrilled with how the platter sits on this table. It's a brass looking cone shaped piece of metal on the motor shaft that goes into a like shaped hole in the platter. I would think a squarely machined resting surface would be better. Bet this design was/is cheaper to produce though....

Once I upgrade to an RP6, I'll forget all about this lil guy's 'wobbles'. :)

Oh right thanks. We have used the same phrase "built like a brick shithouse!" to describe heavily muscled guys. Altho it seems to have gone out of use I think most people would still know the meaning as applied to guys here.

Just shows that sharing the same language still leads to differences. Here in the US it definitely refers only to a female.

In England the term built like a brick s**t house is widely used, usually to describe a physically large, powerful male. It can be used to describe a female but it would be in an uncomplimentary manner!
