my modest collection of records has approx 96% of classic music, so they maybe old but thats what i dream of listening to.

(the greek violinst kavakos is about 40yo, check him out. he plays on a fantastic stradivari and this year on beethoven sonatas he was astonishing)

Finally, the absolute BEST band i've ever heard is Zappa's 1974 band:

An example of this actually happening occurred in the 1970's when jazz guitarist Larry Coryell recorded with three members of the group Oregon to produce the Coryell album "The Restful Mind"

I've never heard of this album. Being an Oregon fan, I'll have to look for this one.
