What is your collecting holy grail?

What is the one record that you just cannot track down or is only available at a horrendous price?

For me it is the classic records 200g Led Zep "Houses of the holy".

I just cannot find this anywhere under £150. That is way too much for an LP for me!!!!

Roger Waters ''Amused to Death'' I refuse to pay the prices wanted for a copy. I have filled a few elusive albums like Floyds ''Pulse'' Led Zepps. ''BBC Sessions'' & David Gilmours ''Live In Gdansk''

I'd like original ASD white and gold copies of "Der Freischutz" and "The Bartered Bride".

For me, it's the first Jethro Tull / Toe 7" on MGM. It goes for about £400-£500 on Ebay but bootleg copies exist.

You should read Hoffman forums - Themusic.com selling this title at $33 but I think they have all just gone.

That is just my luck!!! I have been tracking this down for a year or too. There nearest I got was bidding around £80 when the item went for around £95. I think I got a bit over excited even going up to £85. Kind of glad I didn't win really!!!!

They sure did sell HOTH for $33 last Saturday. I was lucky enough to snatch one up before they sold out. They only lasted a few hours. They also Had Led Zeppelin III and Presence, but those are gone as well. Only The Song Remains the Same is still available.

Luckily i managed to snap up a few of these Classic Records Quiex LZ albums a few years ago for about 30-40 pounds each - LZ1, II, III, IV, HOH, Graffiti, Presence and ITTOD - they sound brilliant and are well worth getting. I am still after the BBC Sessions double set, now 200 - 300 pounds.

Another rare gem i am still after is the Robert Plant "Dreamland" album, seen those for 100 - 300 pounds, very attractive set. 8)

I had a copy of "Jethro Toe" MGM years ago but must have sold it, no longer in my collection, though 20 years ago i found a copy of Family's legendary "Scene from the eye of a lens" for 40 pounds in good/fair condition, here is a video of it playing...

I still look for rare Prog albums, including Vertigo, but originals are all going for really silly prices so will grab a foreign repress if i find one.

Porcupine Tree reissues are also coming up as the original LAVA recordings are going for over 150, managed to pick up a Tonefloat reissue of "Absentia" in black vinyl for 20 pounds but don't know how the sound quality will compare...?

Neil Young- Dead Man soundtrack from 1996.

Not hugely rare but incredibly expensive.

Would also love a 2LP Korean Division Bell and Gilmour's Live In Gdansk....

CSNY- Looking Forward from 1999 is also proving difficult to track down.

I would like a mono Piper at the Gates of Dawn, haven't looked for a while but it does seem to go for stupid prices.

I would love to have a copy of The Sex Pistols God Save The Queen on A&M! I do have a bootleg copy which looks the part though.

Theres no way I could ever afford an original.

Wouldn't mind trying to get mint originals of The Falls "Slates" and "Hex Enduction Hour" but theses are pretty hard to come by.
