I've been listening to Numero Group's Deep City Label compilation from their Eccentric Soul series. Pretty incredible Miami soul; Helene Smith, Betty Wright, Clarence Reid (pre-Blowfly)... It's probably my favorite comp of theirs I've heard so far.

I'm considering getting a subscription to Numero Group..seems like you get a lot of music for $120 a year.

as for now playing,I got this yesterday. 2/3 of this group are in Pokey Lafarge's South City Three. So,Cabbage Patch Elvis, you may wanna search this one out as well. More great St. Louis music on vinyl.

Went to a bike shop the other day and there was music playing, clearly an album as the tracks following each other were in the order of the album. Realised I hadn't heard that album for ages so tonight I'm listening to this:



Just brilliant, it's been too long. Ain't it nice when you hear some music and it brings back memories and you just want to go and listen to the whole album.

From 1969. Some early Cream albums have poor sound quality (IMO) this sounds fantastic.
