MATIA BAZAR - Tango:

Image

I think, I'd like to get more of MATIA BAZAR, earlier LPs- from 70's
ANTONELLA RUGGIERO - a heavenly voice...and early MATIA BAZAR was a classical italian progressive rock band ....
Haven't come across or seen anywhere ANTONELLA RUGGIERO solo LPs...

Before that:

QUEEN - A Night At The Opera...

This album belonged to my parents, it has superb sound and is in near mint condition. Wonderful performances of Debussy and Ravel. It boasts "Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound" or "ffss" and it does indeed. Made in Great Britain.

Under the playing instructions, it says, among other things, "This record must only be played on stereophonic equipment which includes:

A light weight pickup with a tracking weight of not more than 4 grams."

I didn't know that in the olden days there were turntables that would track at 4 grams!

Staying with Kallabow's PG theme...

Peter Gabriel : US . Quite a bassy recording, some great stick bass from Tony Levin, especially deep bass on the final track, should literally make your windows vibrate ;-)
Supertramp : Crisis...What Crisis ? Overlooked follow up to Crime of the Century.
You'll hear Angel Trumpets and Devil Trombones...you are invited.

Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto : Getz/Gilberto featuring Astrid Gilberto. (Original Verve Mono recording from 1964).
Sublime :)

The Luxman amp has a Mono button, and it makes mono recordings sound *right* !
When I flicked it back to stereo, sounded very odd.

Last day or two:

Fleetwood Mac: Rumours. The European version of the 45rmp release, very nice.
Jethro Tull: Bursting Out. Great live album. I've heard bootlegs from shows in the earlier and mid 70s and it is a pity they didn't release a live album a few years earlier than Bursting Out. Still a great live act back then.
Fleet Foxes: Helplessness Blues. Can't get enough of this band since I saw them live in January.

DS
My System: Micro Seiki BL51 Turntable, Stax UA7 Tonearm, RCM Sensor Prelude Phono Stage, Ortofon MC15 Super II Cartridge, Rotel RCD865BX Cd Player, Melody I34R (Astro Black 40) amp and Osborn Epitome Speakers.

Sly and the family Stone : Fresh. Soul/Funk, but not as we know it Jim !

Seal : Seal 1. Still in my opinion one of the finest productions I've heard, Trevor Horn got it so right on this, fantastic on vinyl.

I was 3 years old when this album was recorded in 1975, but what an album.
