606 Dust Cover

Postby edellenator » 31 Jul 2012 03:02

I just bought a 606 in pretty good condition, though it didnt come with a dust cover. Any idea where I can purchase one at a good price? Can't seem to find one aywhere! I usually go to the Needle doctor for all my needs, but I can't tell if the dust covers will work on my 606. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

You can look around on Craigs list electronics or e-bay Dual Turntables. A used one could cost from $30.00 up, mostly up. If on your plinth (base) you have the slot in the back or the 2 hinge clips you need a cover with the extra 3/4 Inch lip on the back of the cover to fit into the slot-clips. There are variations in the plinths used on different models so a picture of the rear of the unit would be handy. Yours seems to be a single play unit so a cover of around 3" high + the lip in back should do you good. It's not really that hard, you want to avoid the 1200 idler series, covers are too tall. 1000 series are lift off avoid them too. If it's about 13 3/4 deep and 16 1/2 wide you are good. Check out thrift stores, and estate sales you might get lucky there and end up with another whole Dual!! Glenn.
