Dual 1009 Question

How does the 1009 stack up against other Duals?

I found a Dual 1009 at a thrift store for 75 bucks, and picked it up. Everything works amazing, and I'm pretty impressed with it. I'm new to Dual, and I keep reading the 1226 is the finest. What makes other TTs better than the 1009?

I'm a bit new to the vinyl world.

I used it with Shure M75 and liked it very much. Now I use Dual 1019, but it sounds about the same. Cartridge carriers are not so easy to find. I think it is one of the best Duals.
