maybe you get lucky, but normally they are not worth a great deal. The enthusiasts go for Dual 1219, 1229 and 701 models.....

The 505 is one of my favourite budget models but prices vary between £20 and £75 depending on condition, age and how many bidders are looking that week! Unfortunately your lack of feedback, hazy photos and highish postage may go against you? It might be worth adding more detail to the description so that people know exactly what they are bidding on.

A turntable is tricky to package so that it doesn't suffer any damage during shipping. Most new eBay sellers do not want to do a good job, because materials cost more than they think they need to spend.

Here's a webpage that shows how to pack a turntable:

http://www.magma.ca/~jimrick1/PackingTT.htm

Instead of styro chips, I use 2" thick insulation board. Styro chips will work, insulation board will work even better.

The platter probably just sits on the spindle. It may be difficult to lift off if the spindle has a taper. Lift up on the platter with one hand, and gently strike the spindle with a rubber mallet to loosen the platter.

Good luck with your auction!

Just sold a mint, boxed, with instructions 505-1 for £35. No takers at £50! But that was just locally through some friends. The real problem with the package is the cartridge and its mounting - although I still have the adaptor plate and aditional counter weight for use with standard mounting carts.
