Knackered 1219 and CH20 lid

Postby wzevon1951 » 28 May 2012 15:34

Hi everyone, I've just , perhaps unwisely bought a 1219 in a damp damaged box that interestingly looks as though it came from the US, Pickering xv 15, and inited audio stickers. It has its original flat pin plug, and is set up for our mains, at 50 herz. It goes, but is creaking a bit. The speed changer rod is broken, but that's no problem, I've mended one of those before. The Arm height change is non-functioning, and I will have to get the Service manual to see if I can mend that.
The CH20 lid looked good, but on examination had none of the small hinges in it, and has all been stuck together! It is soaking in a hot soapy bath as I speak, so more of that later. Im hopeful of being able to assemble the CH20 components in reasonable nick, but wonder if anyone has anything on what the hinges looked like? I don't remmeber the CH20 in the UK, the slidey cover was the most prized over here.
I reckon that it was brought back from the US in its box, the mains were changed over to UK mains and then they couldn't get it to do proper speeds because of the 50/ 60 herz issue. 054916 is the serial number.
Any help/ spares would be gratefully reieved!!
