Ah! The Cat & Fiddle! I've had many a pint in there. Shame that the A537 has been turned into what amounts to a Toll road. Still, you can get there via the A54 & still have some fun whist avoiding the revenue collecting cameras!

Very nice, Jas. Your part of the world is one I've wanted to visit all my life.

Incidentally, I work for a little company with deep ties to Manchester, printing.com. Ever heard of it?

I'm afraid not. To be honest you probably have deeper ties with the North West than me. I'm a relative newcomer to the area (10 years) and still struggle with the accent.

JaS

PS I should point out that my pictures were grabbed off Google as my own don't do the place justice 8-[

I'm Afraid you can keep Manchester my favorite walk
is from Millers Dale craft shop along the river to Monsal head
where in my fifties /sixties I could still run up
the head from the railway track, and enjoy a meal
and a pint of old ale in the Inn at the top.
What a beautiful place. You lucky =#^=+~= Jas.

Cheer's,

Tippo.

JaS,And all.
The Photo topic is great, to see the photo's of the
beautiful places I'll never get to, but as in the The photo's
that JaS has submitted brings great memories when I was in
my early teens cycling in Derbyshire was a favorite, The Cat,
The Goyte and Wild Boar Clough, a couple of the places that come
to mind. The last time I was there I bought two pair of
mole skin trousers from John Brocklehursts of Bakewell,
and dinner and a pint at Monsal Head, the end of a perfect day,
and I didn't run up the head this time.
Thanks JaS, and the rest of you.
And a Happy New Year to everybody.

Cheer's.
Tippo.

I only managed a short stroll up the very muddy Eccles Pike this New Years Eve. With two small children in tow and sideways rain I didn't even reach the, er, 'peak'

I took my six-year-old son on a little hike today and took this picture almost instantly after getting out of the car. This is about 30-minutes' drive from my house and a small part of one of the more photogenic local areas I know of.

It's probably just wishful thinking on my part, but I can't help but be reminded of some of Roger Dean's album covers when I look at this. It's the tree at left that does it, I think.

28 years living in Liverpool and I am still clueless at times. First moved here and though I'd landed in some country with an undiscovered language.
