They got rave review on 6moons, along with photon treated CDs, the Intelligent Chip and the Blackbody device (don't ask). You don't get much higher praise than that!

I think the official explanation is that they provide an improved habitat for spiders to build their webs and that these webs safely dissipate bad sound before it gets to the speaker cones
