Laser Pointer

Post by Ottermel » 17 Nov 2019 16:33

Why can't I find a simple laser pointer for 35mm slide shows? I spent hours looking for one with AAA or AA battery and can't find one.
They all are hunting lasers or for cats or have USB and Bluetooth which are totally redundant for my application.
There used to be just one dot laser pointers and now it seems they are history!!

I wonder if it's because of all the morons who've used them to aim at aircraft and individuals to blind them. There are no short supply of these critters.

Pointers that use AA or AAA are long out of date here. They all use button cells now. Look at your local dollar store.

https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?ca ... er+pointer

Loads of them requiring 2 AAA batteries giving 5mW output.
Some are sub $2 including shipping.

But I can imagine that an USB rechargeable one with build in lipo is also handy.

Also loads of them build into the other end of a pen (thats what I sometimes use....plus the pen side  )
Also sub$2
http://nl.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catI ... ointer+pen
and the tip is also a touch screen pen.
They work on some button cells inside (and output is probably lower than that former 5mW, probably more like 1mW)

Both links above require me to register and sign in first which I will not do.
I just need something small 3-4" long and not powerful (no need for a laser line, just a dot)

So you never buy anything online at aliexpress or ebay? (or most other large webshops, amazon etc....all require signup)
wow

Then you have to find some webshop that allows you to check out with guest account, I'm sure there is one somewhere

(or go to a local store, if the dollar store doesnt have them, maybe an office supply store does)

maybe something like this? (with button cells but guest checkout)

I do buy on line at places like amazon and elusive disc, but what amazon has is garbage and extremely poor quality for the price (sold for $7 whereas it should be 50 cents!!)
I'll try the local dollar stores and buy a dozen for $5.00!!
