You do make a good point about Rega's popularity. You talked earlier about detail and punch. Exactly what I'm looking for. I wonder if I should consider getting the performance pack upgrade. Thanks:)

I've been asked that question many times before, and here's what I'd do if I were starting out but knowing what I've learned over the past 5 years. I'd not get the perfromance package but instead put the cash into a glass platter, a white belt, a Nagaoka MP110 cartridge, and a homemade cork platter by buying the cork planter mat from a store such as Home Depot > my wife was stunned when she heard the cork mat in place of the upgraded felt mat I got from Rega when I bought their glass platter. See if your dealer will give you a break in buying a white belt and a glass platter. Find out if that dealer also carries the Nagaoka line of carts.

Thanks Grozni , I've heard the Rega RP1 is a really great sounding TT. Though many reviews claim people have problems with the cartridge touching the record while playing. Also a lot of issues with wobble. I really want a TT with a lot of detail. Do you think it delivers on the detail. I like mostly classic rock , jazz , blues and classical. Thanks

I have no problem with my turnable.
This turnable really sounds great with lot of details and punch. I only want to change the catridge since this turnable diserves better one.
