HA HA . modding ? if you only knew what I do to cars, musical instruments, studio equipment and such . rp3 900 new, rp6 1500 new . power supply about 375 . so were at about 200 dollars for the nicer finish, and better platter to begin with .

Yeah, I'm the same way. How many different drive trains, brakes, bars, grips, stems have I put on my wife's bike? I've lost count. Love the process of dialing it in, but will we ever get there? And who cares if we do?

Can't help but feel that the Groovetracer products are head and shoulders above the Rega "improvements" for the RP6

That P5 with all the mods would outshine a RP6 for sure. If it was me I would snap it up.

What are you waiting for????

Well, that p5 went to someone, I'm pretty sure. I'd been following it on Audiogon- it sold today.

Saw the new glossy red RP6 table at a shop in Ann Arbor yesterday. It was stunning looking. I would buy this and keep it stock except, I would add a rega tungsten counterweight. Seriously, the rega engineers have 'got it going'.

Yes, they do (always did), but the cherry P5 was a real high point in Rega's design history IMHO.

done . figured I grab the p5 for now, dont really have to buy anything for it plus I have the tungsten weight from an old planar 3 to play with . as they say, a planar 3 will always be a planar 3 and a p5 will always be a p5 .going to sell a couple of my music hall tables and this upgrade should not cost me much at all .I can compare to the planar 3 I have sitting as well .worse case, I cant imagine I would loose much if anything at all for the p5 .just love the way that rb700 arm looks .

that was the same one from audiogon .I went ahead and bought it . 975 shipped .this saves me 525 from a new rp6 and what ever them vta spacers could have cost . plus I get a spare motor with board . I just might play with that in the old planar 3 I got .

I think so . almost ordered a new scout but kept reading reviews and opinions of the p5 . went with my gut . I have long been a fan of british mixing boards and use them often .marshall amps, premier drums,so there you have it . with all the tube gear I have in my set up, the "lively" rega sound should fit the bill . I very curious to see how this p5 compares to the music hall 5 I have been using .thankx for all the input and advise .
