No, I do not use a spacer on the p1 - arm is perfectly level - measured it several times. However, I don't know if that holds true on the RP1 which has an updated arm.
Take a 3 by 5 lined index card and see what yours looks like with the cart on an lp. The top of the cart should be level - if so, you need no spacer/s.

I've just bought an RP-1 turntable which is now coming with a Rega CARBON cart as standard OEM.

Anyone got an opinion on this cart?

Life the sound of the Nagaoka MP 110 (Sandbah) as an upgrade.

The Denon DL-110 sounds great on a rega. Haven't heard a Nagaoka MP-110, but I prefer the Denon to my MP-11.

Cheers,
Alec

Ahhh.. found 7 pages of detailed review of the Rega CARBON cart this morning:

Looks like I should be keeping this one!

I believe that the older user manuals told us to leave the lid closed when playing records?
But the user manual for my RP3 says that leaving the lid open may sound better under some conditions. :)

I think it both looks better and sounds more free and lifelike with the lid removed. My neurotic self also believes that the lid opened (and closed) might pick up more vibrations...?

If you are picking up vibrations you are playing it WAY too loud.
Only kidding of course.
