Weight of Rega RB250/251 counterweight

Postby MusicallyBiased » 11 Aug 2012 05:50

Does anyone have a good digital weight scales + one of the above Rega counterweights?
Would like to know the exact weight. However, please only remove your counterweight if you're completely confident about resetting your tracking force afterwards (I don't want to be the cause of any accidents...)
Thanks in advance.

The one I have weighs 5oz. Or 91 grams.

I have a stock Rega weight from an RB700,a tungsten one and a stock RB250 weight.
Surprise. surprise they all weigh the same. Makes sense to me.
Hope this helps.

Oops, I wasn't looking closely at my scale. They weigh about 4 ounces each which
is 113 grams. Sorry about that. But the point is they all weigh the same.

my stainless steel and tungsten both weigh 100g ±2g. Makes sense to me, too! :D

jrobby, the silver one looks like a stainless steel weight. Tungsten weights are smaller ('cause they're denser) and dark grey.

The RB250/RB251 stock weight (black with red dot) was 130g.
The RB100 was the same, apart from having a black dot, but still 130g.
The stainless and tungsten weights should be 100g, but the extra heavy stainless is 112g and the extra heavy tungsten is 120g.
