Newbie needs some guidance Technics SL-B20

Postby papasnurf » 21 Aug 2012 08:57

I have a Technics turntable Model SL-B20

I am having a difficult time finding a replacement cartridge and stylus. The one that is currently on it , is a replacement and I am not sure if was the correct replacement.

I know the SL-B2 takes a EPC-270C cartridge and a EPS-270SD stylus.

My question is …..does anyone know what the replacement parts are for the SL-B20, are they the same as SL-B2and where can I buy these replacement parts?

Thank you.

The B20 looks to have the straight arm, with a P-mount cartridge. They are interchangeable.

Pick one.

With the P-mount system you can use any P-mount cartridge that you want.
But I would use a medium quality, one from about $40-$80.

Now for the original one that came with it

TYLUS FOR TECHNICS SL-B20 SL B20 SLB20 TURNTABLE

The Technics SL-B20 SL B20 SLB20 turntable was fitted with a Panasonic Technics P-328 P328 phono cartridge and a Panasonic Technics EPS-328CS EPS328CS needle stylus. A photo of the stylus replacement is supplied above. The color of the stylus varies. Please verify and use this information as a guide only since the cartridge and stylus may have been changed through the years.
