Synchro-Lab 95B no auto mode

My 95b is not working in automatic mode, if you hold down the automatic switch it starts to spin but the tonearm does not move. It also does not go back into place after playing a record in manual mode, is this a common problem on these? if so what is usually the problem?

Grease needs cleaning out. See many posts on 95B here on this forum with instructions. Prepare a day of joyful deconstruction.

I will have to check that out, but the guy at the repair shop I took it to said he lubricated everything, he said the changer gear is bad. I guess I will just have to tear into it myself.

Yeah theres a hundred parts that could be to blame for not triggering the auto mechanism. On the cam gear, there is a trigger with a long rod that goes to the start lever and the back of the tone arm. If you can find that trigger, you can see if it is in place.
