Hello, I just got a Garrard Synchro-lab 95 B turntable with a Shure m75ed cartridge. I guess I will need a stereo receiver made for turntables due to the low signal output. The needle it came with is for 78's only but I was wondering if there was one I could get that could play 33's, 45's, and 78's, or if I will have to change them all the time. Any recommendations? thanks.
You should get a stylus for LPs. You don't have to switch cartridges. If you have a sound system without a phono section, you can buy an external phono pre-amp to boost the signal and apply the RIAA tonal correction.
A little past halfway down the page: "New Old Stock (NOS) Garrard LRS-25 EV#448S 45 rpm adapter. 3 1/8" in height. Fits Garrard record changers SLX3, SL72B, SL75, SL75B, SL95 & SL95B."
Not affiliated with this seller, but have bought from them and been satisfied. In fact it was this exact item...
I found an old 8 track player in the attic that has phono inputs, and I ordered the stylus so I should be ready to go soon! I am excited to see how much better it sounds than the Fisher I am using now.
Ok, I got the stylus but I still can barley hear it, so I guess even though the inputs are labeled phono they do not amplify it enough and I will need a pre-amp.
