A couple of things...
your 1001 is actually the same underlying cartridge electronics as the AT95... but the p-mount series have higher compliance needles than the 1/2" mount versions of the family.
There are lots of stylus choices for the 1001:

The AT95 has a similar range of needles available... and they are all mid compliance suspended - which would match better with your arm - in theory.
http://www.turntableneedles.com/search. ... &search=GOThe Ortofon Omega is a lovely cartridge too - basically a rebranded Ortofon OM3/5 - upgradeable with any of the OM series styli ... but again most of the OM's are like the 1001 high-ish compliance - the AT95 would be a better match for your table/arm I would have thought.
With a lower mass arm I would have gone for the 1001 with a stylus upgrade - or the Omega as I am very fond of the OM family, especially when fitted with styli from the 20 through to the 40.
bye for now
