Clearaudio Aurum Classic wood

Greetings,
I want to have my Clearudio checked and possibly re-tipped. Any reccomandations for this job? Who do you trust with your cart?

I use Soundsmith for either replacing the cantilever or retipping the stylus. Wait times are about 12 weeks, price range from $150 to 350 depending on quality of stylus chosen. they are in New York, one man show.

Also consider doing it yourself. There are multiple threads on the net discussing the fact that Clearaudio apparently uses Audio Technica as their OEM. The styli from the AT-95 series can be fitted into the Clearaudio bodies (at least up to Virtuoso) wth minor modification. I have a CA Aurum Beta S which had a bad needle. Replaced it with the Shibata variant (also available: elliptical and line contact)of the AT95 which is a big step up from the elliptical stylus on the Aurum series. It was surprisingly easy, and less expensive than any other option. My "adjusted" cartridge is now in heavy rotation and one of my favorite 5 among the 30 or so carttidges I own.

Duficity I thought about Soundsmith, but for that kind of bread, I can buy a new cart and forget the mods. That is more than I paid for the Aurum.
Funflyer I will have to look up the information on "DIY", sounds intriguing.

Just Google "AT-95 Clearaudio" and it should come up.
The Shibata stylus is about $100, the line contact about $70 and ellipticalls are very cheap ( whole AT-95 cart for about $35!)
