What stylus for SV-43 cartridge

Just picked up another Sansui turntable, this time it's an 838. What is a good stylus to replace the original SN-43? I don't really want to replace the original headshell. Anyone have any thoughts?

Nice table... In my opinion, Sansui's best. Dead quiet and rock solid plinth.

I know you know your du Sansui turntables, so what do you use on your 838?

Not 100% sure if it's better... But since the difference in dollars is minimal, I'd check it out if it truly is a direct replacement.

I use a shelter 201 cartridge on my SR-838... I like it but will probably look at something else more dynamic. Another suggestion that's out there is the Grace F-9 cart. Both of these are MM carts. The Grace may be tough to track down in new condition.

I am considering a move to the Ortofon Black mm cart in the near future. It's a bit more expensive but highly regarded.

Regardless of what you decide, never get rid of this table!

What other Sansui models do u have?

I currently use an SR-525 turntable, powered by a Sansui 9090 amp, through a set of new sf-2 speakers. Feeling like the 70's around here!

I run the 9090DB on my 838 too... Best receiver I've ever owned. You have a very classic combination there.
