Hi, good or waste depends on what you pay for it, :)/sreten.

Hello,
it sure looks pretty, and even reminds me of Infinity Black Widow! If it really is a low-mass design (difficult to ascertain from the photo) it would be a blessing for high-compliance cartridges.
Happy Listening!

Pretty certain it's a low mass design and that it came as standard on the PD272. See ebay link below. Playing with one of these decks when I was young, I tried a few different carts and from memory (talking about long time here) the ADC's worked the best. Shures were okay and even a HO Supex did alright.

I did get another PD272 a few years ago but there's some kind of hum with the motor.

cheers
Jack

You can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.

This is my tonearm. It looks similar like PD272 has, but has has detachable arm tube and with detachable audio cable.

Read this site for years but wanted to be sure my first post was a contribution.

I just uploaded the Luxman / Micro Seiki TA-1 tonearm manual. Hope the moderators will review the doc and post it soon for everyone's use. It came with a Luxman PD-441 I just bought off of *bay. Manual is an overstatement, it's a double sided A4 sized piece of paper but I found it useful.

One question I hope someone can answer: I noticed a screw underneath the headshell of the TA-1 tonearm. Once loosened, does this mean the headshell can be safely rotated to adjust cartridge azimuth without breaking the headshell lead wires? Headshell still does not want to move even with screw loosened (tight interference fit). Nothing regarding azimuth adjustment is mentioned in the manual, but my headshell and cart definitely looks lopsided when in play, despite the turntable being level.
