I've been thinking hard about how to damp the vibrations that thread weight bias causes to cascade up into your tonearm.You see as your arm moves and tracks the record this shakes the bias weight which in turn shakes your arm ,continusly. Heres a simple thing I tried and it worked!Its hard to describe though.All you need is some thin sellotape and siccors. Cut a small piece of tape about say 3 inches.Stick one end to your arm board say a couple of centimetres of it and about 2 inches directly backward from your bias weight. Now bend the tape over and backward toward the bias weight so the sticky side is faceing up and stick the end to your bias weight. So the tape form s a lose loop.This should be loose enought to move upward with the wieght , but the tape should dampen the vibrations of the wieght. I have a Wilson Benesch arm on a Linn and I found the sound opened right out and became crisper. Please let me know your results if you try it.If my instruction don't make sence please let me know.
