I am going to buy an Audiomods tonearm and would be interested in what cartridges members are using or would recommend

Ortofon 2M Black, good match with the AudioMods arm. I've also used a number of Joe Grado cart's (Prestige Gold,Signature 6 and Reference Platinum to good effect) and if you can stretch to it a MusicMaker III.
Good choice of arm btw

Forgot to mention, I am buying the Series 5 version(Not on website yet) which has an option of either silver or cardas wiring.
Any views on either also appreciated

Jeff has a PDF on cartridge compatibility available on his website: http://www.audiomods.co.uk/cartridgechoice.pdf

With the provided shim kit, the Series V is compatible with most of the usual suspects. I've read that the Denon 103 might be problematic (for Rega arms more generally), but don't quote me on it.

Jeff recommends the Cardas loom for Naim phono preamplifiers because of their tendency to pick up RFI. That, and the cost of silver has skyrocketed lately, so it represents a more affordable option. The silver litz wiring offers more detail and instrumental texture, but might sound a bit "bright" on a fully SS system. Whatever your choice, I would think carefully about the wiring option - not so easy to change after the fact.

I'm using a ZYX R100 Fuji in mine at the moment, (with the thinner copper shim), and it is very, very nice.
