How to Clean Thorens Platter?

Hi all,

I have a Thorens TD-145 which I would like to clean-up a bit. I was wondering what is a good cleaning solvent to use to clean and shine the platter?

Lots of things can take that platter rim from the original to a nice shiny finish you might want.

The more power you use the easier it is but you can start with mag wheel polish and spend a couple/few hours working it. You can use a buffing wheel and be done in 20 minutes.
