Arm removal-advice please

Postby adrian_jewell » 17 Jul 2012 18:02

Hi all,

I need to take my Alphason hr100s off my Lp12 ready to be shipped to Jonnie at AO.

This is the first time I've removed an arm, any tips?

Cheers

Seriously though, remove everything you can from the arm first, then make sure all cables are freed up and then just unlock it. It's not difficult... hell, even I have managed it a few times!

Place the arm in the rest and ensure it is secure. One of those twisty ties from the likes of sandwich bags tied (not too tightly) around the rest and the arm helps keep it in place.

Packing: Ship the counterweight and any bias weight seperately, wrapped in bubble wrap. A shoe box is about the right size. Plenty of bubble wrap and if required make some card supports.

The rest is as Smeg says.
