Tonearm life time

I'm just wondering what the lifetime should be for a well-looked after tone arm. I have an Ittok LVIII.
My thinking is that it should be virtually indefinite.

What do you think?

Cheers

I hope the Ittok has longevity....I’ve just bought one

You only have to look at some of the arms people are using, the older SME, Audio Technica etc (and they're the youngsters) and you can draw the conclusion ....pretty indefinite.

I wouldn't say indefinitely but a very long time - such as in 'lifetime'. It also depends on the quality of engineering and materials chosen initially.

I am particular in taking good care of my arms which are mostly assorted Micro arms and treat them as precision instruments.

One or two arms which passed through didn't quite measure up - the stock arm fitted to a Lenco L-75 and an Alphason (not an HR-100).

I dont beleave in indefinate they are mechanical objects they wear, I used to own a Sme v and iI would have serviced every 5 years and everytime i serviced it it sounded fresher more vibrant more air and space. But not that it mattered I got used the arm not sounding at its best
